Multi-star alignment

Setup

The Alignment > Sync Samples page shows all previously synced (aligned) stars.

If sync samples are no longer valid, such as after relocating the mount, use Alignment > Reset Alignment to clear them.

Sample

Aligning a star using any of the following methods will add a new sync sample:

• Using one of the alignment methods from the Alignment page
• Centering on a celestial object at the prompt after any catalog object GOTO
• Receiving a SyncTo command from ASCOM with a plate-solving software

GOTO accuracy is improved the most for targets near a sync sample. Repeating the above operation evenly throughout the entire sky will build an accurate pointing model.
